Facilitated by renowned foresight practitioner Melissa Clark-Reynolds ONZM, you’ll use research-backed methodologies and explore what it means to be a futurist in Aotearoa.

Throughout the day, Melissa will unravel the powerful forces that shape our future, empowering you to make informed decisions and seize emerging opportunities. You’ll leave with worksheets you can take back and apply in your daily role.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Melissa Clark-Reynolds is best known as a foresight practitioner and professional director, with over 25 years’ experience as an entrepreneur and strategist.

She has been CEO of a number of technology companies and is an active board member for a number of organisations, including Alpine Energy and Atkins Ranch — the first lamb producer in the world to achieve both Global Animal Partnership Step-4 accreditation and Non-GMO Project verification.

She was previously deputy chair of Radio NZ, a member of the Ministry for Primary Industries Primary Growth Partnership’s Independent Advisory Panel, and the first independent director of Beef + Lamb New Zealand — the industry organisation representing New Zealand's sheep and beef farmers.

Melissa also previously chaired Little Yellow Bird which makes ethical clothing and has recently moved into the circular economy by converting unused clothing into fabric for reuse.

She delivers strategy and foresight advice with a number of organisations in the sector, including Kotahi, BioSecurityNZ and the Department of Conservation.

Melissa has attended the Te Hono Bootcamp at Stanford University twice, trained as a foresight practitioner with The Institute For The Future in Palo Alto and studied with Clayton Christiansen in his approach to disruptive innovation through Harvard Business School.

In 2015 she was named Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) in recognition for her services to technology.
