Boma named the Official and Exclusive Leadership Training Partner of the Crusaders

Boma has officially teamed up with the Crusaders in an exclusive leadership training partnership.

As the most successful team in Super Rugby history, the Crusaders have long been known for their strong emphasis on and success in leadership. The three-year deal will see Boma help them continue to elevate the club’s leadership capability.

Members of the Crusaders leadership team will experience a number of Boma’s transformational programmes, designed to help leaders and changemakers to be more intentional, intelligent and courageous about the future.

Included in Boma’s most recent Transformational Executives™ cohort was acclaimed Crusaders Head Coach and ex-All Black Scott (Razor) Robertson, who has led the Crusaders to win five consecutive Super Rugby titles since 2017 and focused on securing their sixth this season.

Regarded as a phenomenal communicator and strategist who gets players to thrive under his leadership, Razor reflected, “What a few days of deep learning. The course pushes you to think in such a transformative way. I highly recommend the opportunity to learn from the best.”

Crusaders GM Commercial Alex Lemon says “The Crusaders are excited about this partnership and the value it will create for our organisation. We have built a culture on continual change and challenging our norms, and this partnership with Boma will build on, and further enhance, this culture. With several of our leadership team having attended Boma leadership courses recently, we are already applying the learnings.”

Boma will also host members of the Crusaders leadership team and ex-player greats as guest speakers, offering unique insight into the club’s leadership strategies.

Boma founder and CEO Kaila Colbin says “We couldn’t be happier with this partnership. The Crusaders’ commitment to performance, growth, culture, and values are perfectly aligned to Boma’s focus on ‘what you need to know’ (understanding the external disruptions shaping our world) and ‘who you need to be’ (how we need to show up as leaders to effectively navigate change and build the future we want). It’s a real privilege to get to work with such a high-performing organisation and support them to get to the next level.”

As an additional game-changing initiative, Boma and Crusaders are partnering to take the Crusaders’ international coaching offering to the next level — together launching the Crusaders Coaching Leadership Program.

The program is an international and all-virtual high performance course for high school to professional coaches that deep-dives into the Crusaders’ Way. Each course draws on insights and perspectives from some of the most legendary people in Crusaders history, such as Scott Robertson, Kieran Read, Robbie Deans and Wayne Smith.
